Boatmaking Factory: The factory is located directly on the shores of Pangkor Island, adjacent to the Anchovies Factory. It sits on a slope which inclines down to the sea. The main workshop and storage areas are located near the road, while the boats in construction and their scaffolding are located directly above the water surface.
The contour of the site has also slowly increased in height and volume, as the result of the accumulation of wood dust gathered from the wood working processes which take place directly on top of the site. This results in an artificial extension of the existing shoreline, slowly edging the factory towards the sea.

The factory can house the production of 3 boats simultaneously, as seen from the plan above. Scaffolding and wood storage surround the boats in construction, allowing for easy accessibility to tools and materials. In addition, there is a road which leads down to an anchovies fishery adjacent to the boatmaking factory.

Certain spaces and rooms are crucial in the process of the boat construction. These spaces keep the factory running and each has their own unique function. The spaces link with one another in relation to the effectiveness of the step-by-step process followed by the builders.
This is why we have creative archival.
